Who we are

The 10 Greatest Gifts Project strives to be responsible and respectful with your personal information. We understand that it is something that must be fiercely protected and used discriminately. Our pledge to you: we will contact you periodically to support your parenting journey with parenting tips, blog posts, and newsletters (if you opt in)  to give you the balanced amount of information without filling your inbox with too much information.

We maintain the following privacy policy:

Information Collection

  • Contact Information You Provide to Us: Such information may be submitted to us via the contact form on our website, email, phone call, social media, registration system, our mailing list signup form or any other medium. The types of information that we may collect includes your name, phone number, email addresses, website address, mailing address, social media usernames or any other contact information that you provide to us.
  • Aggregated Tracking Information: We aggregate the behavior of visitors to our website and social media channels in order to better provide content that is valuable to our visitors. We are able to see aggregated demographic information but are not able to see the identifying information of any individuals unless they publicly share our content in some way.
  • Consumption of Emails We Send: When we send email newsletters to those people who have opted in to receive them, we track those who opened these emails, as well as who clicked on any of the links placed within the newsletter. We do this to measure what information our email newsletter recipients find valuable in hopes of providing the type of content that a recipient would like to see in the future.
  • Comments: When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
  • Contact Forms: When you complete a contact form, feedback form or any other form on our website that requests any personal information, we will collect your personal information in the event that we need to contact you, but we will not use this information to send you parenting tips, newsletters, or other supplemental information unless you opt in on the form itself or in the field at the bottom of all website pages where you can sign up for our newsletter.

How we use collected information

  • Communicate with our clients, potential clients, partners or those that may be interested in partnering with us.
  • Provide support, parenting tips, and obtain feedback.
  • Track the aggregated use of our website in order to make improvements to the content and structure of our site.
  • Track the behavior of those following us on social media to provide content that is more interesting to our audience.
  • Track the consumption of the content in our email newsletter to guide content for future newsletters.

We do not give out your information

As parents, we understand that protecting our own and especially our children’s personal information is vital in such a malicious, digital age. We do not share, sell or trade your contact information without your consent. We may use your contact information to communicate with you or send you content that you’ve requested, but we will not provide your information to anyone else without first obtaining permission directly from you in writing, on the phone or in person.

If you upload images to the website to accompany a parenting story, we retain the right to use those images in a blog post or other social media capacity. We will never use your (or your families’) last names in any personal story of yours that you post. We will only use first names in order to protect the subjects of the story/images. Please do not upload any images or stories if you do not wish for them to appear on our website or social media pages.

Credit and Account Information

Any credit information you provide us will be used solely for transactions that you’ve approved. We will never sell, share or provide any of your credit information to any third parties or use it to make any unapproved purchases. Please refer to the Privacy Policy for the Amilia platform, which is the third party system we use to manage session registrations and merchandise purchases.

We use cookies to collect aggregate data, including Demographics and Interest Reporting through Google Analytics. If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day. You can opt-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customize your setting by using the Ads Settings.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
